Presentation on the role of universities in solving the problem of getting essential medicines to those in need. Addressed the research and access gap, the drug pipeline, universities major contributions to drug development and health research. Introduces the UBC University Liaison Office and their role in patenting and licensing. Provides a history of UAEM, its message and goals. Also mentioned are the equitable access license and the Philadelphia consensus statement.
