New York Times Covers Student AIDS Activists, UAEMers Amongst Them

Project: 

The New York Times covered student activists working to hold Obama to his promise of $50 billion for the fight against Global AIDS.  Along with fantastic partners such as the Harvard AIDS Coalition, Health GAP and Gregg Gonsalves, many UAEMers have been involved in this movement.  These fantastic activists are keeping the fight against global AIDS alive while many others are backing away from promises of universal access to treatment.  Congratulations for your work keeping the fight alive!

Rally on CAMR Reform in Ottawa

Yesterday, UAEM joined with the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network, the Raging Grannies among others to rally in support of reforming the Canadian Access to Medicines Regime.  If properly reformed, it will be easier for generic companies in Canada to export low-cost medicines to poor countries that do not have their own production capacity.  Read more about it here: http://www.aidslaw.ca/EN/camr/index.htm.

UAEMer and Peter Hotez Publish PLoS Editorial
