Poster session

The annual chapter session is a great way for everyone to network with each other and see what stages different chapters are in their campaigns. If you are a new chapter this is an awesome opportunity to get some advice for effective campus advocacy, if you are well into your efforts then you can get some fresh opinions on how to keep pushing on. Plus, you may now become eligible for certain funding because you will be presenting at a conference.

So practice for presenting at scientific meetings or dust of your science fair poster from your days in 5th grade and share your accomplishments and goals. There’s no specified limits, just make sure that you can transport it to Berkeley easily.

Suggestions to Include in Your Poster

- univeristy/college name and location… maybe a pic to make us all jealous of your campus, like the surf of sunny San Diego!
- name(s) of chapter leader(s)… again, a pic with your beautiful faces?
- chapter stats: how many people on your email group? how many active members? attendance numbers at specific events?
- highlights of your past events: teach-ins, panel discussions, meetings with administration, rallies, etc.
- representation of sorts (a “map” or “tree”) of the campus targets of your campaign
- grants and successful fundraising
- your planned activities and goals for the next year and beyond

Feel free to get creative!

If you are a new chapter, don’t worry. You can come with your action plan for the year and what you hope to get accomplished and write things onto your poster, the conference is going to be great for helping you develop your campus strategy.
