All out! Rally in Ottawa on September 29 for Action on the Global AIDS Crisis

This is a critical time!

Bill C-393 would cut through the red tape in CAMR, so that AIDS drugs and other medicines, including for children, can get to developing countries. But brand-name pharmaceutical companies are leading a campaign to try to derail the bill – they seek to block the competition that is essential to lowering the prices of medicines for AIDS and other public health needs in developing countries.

The bill is currently before a House of Commons committee, which is expected to hold public hearings on the bill in October. The third and final vote will take place after the committee has deliberated on the bill.

C’est un moment crucial!

Le Projet de loi C-393, déposé par une députée au Parlement, éliminerait des complexités administratives du processus actuel du RCAM afin que des médicaments, notamment contre le sida, y compris pour enfants, finissent par être fournis à des pays en développement dans ce cadre. Le projet de loi est actuellement à l’agenda d’un comité des communes qui est supposé tenir en octobre des audiences publiques sur ce projet de loi. La troisième lecture et le vote final auront lieu après la discussion du projet de loi en comité.
