World AIDS Day Student Awareness Campaign

Join us on World AIDS day for an unforgettable experience.

Many HIV antiretroviral drugs are now available, but at astronomical prices well beyond the reach of citizens of developing countries. We need to put pressure on the universities and pharmaceutical companies involved in the production of these drugs to allow developing countries to make generic drugs at a much lower cost. They must place the patents in a patent pool for poor people! It can only achieve its full potential if people like YOU stand up for what is right.

Think of the Trafalgar Square fountains as the patent pool, and yourselves as these lifesaving drugs. We want YOU in there, just like the drugs you're representing should be.

Come dressed in red, with a non-red jacket over the top (to save the surprise for the very last moment). On our signal, reveal yourselves in all your redness, and hop into that patent pool/fountain.

Yes, it will be cold. But cold feet is a small price to pay for the huge impact this action will have. You might want to bring a change of clothes and shoes.

Most importantly, we want as many people as we can muster. We're thinking thousands. So we need you to invite ALL your friends to this event. NOW!
