U.C. Statewide Campaign

2011 Updates

May 18th: In honor of HIV Vaccine Awareness Day U.C. students will launch a photo campaign, table on campuses and hold info sessions.

April 1-3- CGIU:  UAEM Executive Director Bryan Collinsworth joins members of the UCSD chapter at this years Clinton Global Initiative- University event which is being hosted by UCSD. UAEM is given a booth at the exchange and is publicly honored by Mandy Moore for their CGIU commitment during the Global Health segement of the event. 

March 29th- Empty pill bottles sent to all members of TTAC as well as President Yudof with our official response letter and with the signatures of all 565 supporters. 

March 24th-  UAEM sends out official response to TTAC.

March 21st- Letter writing campaign changes. We email all previous signers and ask them to write a response to Beckwith with a more specific ask clarifying that we want a systematic, comprehensive, and transparent policy that falls in line with GALF.

March 16th-17th- Begin to get responses from TTAC members. Send out 250 letters within 2 days of launching the campaign. Recieve official response from Steve Beckwith where it is stated : "To emphasize and maintain awareness of consideration of global access in our licensing activities, last September, the TTAC recommended including a specific reference to global access as part of an update to UC’s University Licensing Guidelines ".

March 15th- Letter writing campaign begins. Goal is to get 500 letters to Yudof and TTAC by April 1st.

March 6th- UAEM members send an official letter to TTAC and President Yudof, requesting a public statement, on or before April 1st, with the U.C's commitment to changing their policies. This is a message to TTAC that we are not going to wait any longer and they cannon keep pushing our requests to the back-burner.
