U.C. Campaign: Individual Campus Updates
A Brief Campus Breakdown:
UC Berkeley:
Cal is the only UC campus proactively practicing socially responsible licensing, thanks to UAEM
activism on campus and the groundbreaking leadership of Berkeley’s technology transfer officer, Dr. Carol Mimura.
UC Irvine:
Meetings have been held with the UCI Chancellor and representatives of the technology transfer office. UAEM is working to draft specific language for a UCI access licensing policy to submit to the administration.
UC San Diego:
Meetings have been held with the UCSD Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Research, and several global health and research faculty, but UCSD is unwilling to independently adopt socially responsible licensing at this time.
UCLA:
UAEM students recently met with UCLA’s technology transfer officer, and are continuing to engage with administrators, faculty and students.
UCSF:
Meetings have been held with head of the UCSF technology transfer office, as well as the UCSF representative to TTAC.
